Split tool

The Split tool lets you split clips, cut clips, split MIDI notes, and split clips at transients. By splitting clips, you can copy, move, and delete individual sections.

To select the Split tool

Do one of the following:

Click the Split tool button in the Control Bar.

Press T to display the Tools HUD, then select the Split tool.

Press F8

Note: The F8 shortcut key cycles through all Edit tools (Edit/Timing/Split). If another Edit tool is selected, press F8 again until the Split tool is selected.
